In class today we discussed Summatives. Mr. Case also recommended the use of Calendars such as Google calendar.
The internet was divised by the American Military in the 60's. Phonelines are connected very limitedly whereas the internet is connected to each station, like a web.
Ftp - file transfer protocol
Http - Hyper text transfer protocol, fairly new [came out in the 80's] [most dominant] set of rules for transfering hyper text pages
www- world wide web, a network on the internet that uses hyper text transfer protocol
Hyper text - code embedded text, ability to link text [e.g. if you click a link, it loads up http and connects to other pages]
HTML - Hyper text markup language
Browser turns html code into something we could see.
View/Source - you can see what the page looks like in HTML
Web authoring programs - create html pages
If you alter the html source code of a webpage and save it, it changes on your desktop but the original webpage remains the same because the actual source is saved on a server and not your computer.
HTML files are text but they have links to tell you where you can get pictures, videos, sound files, etc.
A tag is a small piece of code you input (e.g. body, font, etc)
